Hi Sundogs -- we are excited to have Atlanta Thrashers Wiki as part of the Wikia community! Thanks for joining us, and we'd like to give you some tips to help you get started on making your wiki great.
Your first four steps: Edit
1. Create your User Page - this is a great place to introduce yourself (and practice wiki-editing!)
2. Add a logo - learn how to create a logo image, then click here to add it to the wiki.3. Create your first 10 articles - use the box on the right to create ten pages, starting each one off with a few sentences. For example if you are starting a wiki on a TV show, you might create an article for each main character.
4. Edit your Main Page - add internal links ([[like this]]) to the ten articles you just created, and any other improvements you can think of.
Once you've done these four things, you've created a great starting point -- your wiki looks friendly and ready for visitors. You can then invite some friends to help you create the next twenty pages, and expand the ones you've built.
Keep going! The more pages you create and link to each other, the sooner that others who are searching for "Atlanta Thrashers Wiki" will be able find your project in search engines, read your content and join you in editing.

Rules Edit
In terms of rules I was thinking:
First Vandalism: a warning
Second Vandalism: a short block
Third Vandalism : a permanent block
Stay on the topic of the Atlanta Thrashers. Its Ok to create basic articles on rival teams but not much more than that.
Same rules as vandalism for foul language.
Same rules for Image Uploading.
Treat other users with respect.

Timeline Edit
What do you think about creating an Atlanta Thrashers Timeline with the years 1999-present in it. It could include notable events, trades, signings etc.Hockeyben 18:10, October 8, 2010 (UTC)

I think your ideas for the Timeline sound excellent. I was thinking of some basic Flames events such as their first game, last game, move to Calgary etc.Hockeyben 18:19, October 8, 2010 (UTC)

Rules Edit
I created a rules page on the New Jersey Devils Wiki but did not on the Penguins and Blackhawks Wikis as I do not have the tools to protect it on those wikis. Hockeyben 21:28, October 8, 2010 (UTC)
Timeline and main pages Edit
Sundogs, I updated the main pages on the New Jersey Devils and Pittsburgh Penguins sites but was unable to on the Chicago Blackhawks site because the main page is locked so only admins can edit it.
In terms of the timeline i was thinking of something like this:
This article contains information on Atlanta Thrashers events that happened in 2008.

Timeline is made.There is no real content in it however, but I will add some soon. You said in an earlier discussion that you know how to make templates (something i don't). Would it be possible for you to make a timeline template, with all years of the timeline on it? We could put it on each timeline article so it would be easy for someone to navigate the timeline. I've pretty much finished building this site, have all flames/thrashers seasons/players/coaches/gms. You said earlier you're a bureaucrat on Pittsburgh penguins, and Chicago Blackhawks wikis. Jets Edit

You mean to turn the url into winnipegjets.wikia.com? The main problem with that is that every single page will have to be modified, and I currently don't have time/desire to do that. Your suggestions are welcome. -Hockeyben 14:44, August 21, 2011 (UTC)
I think atlantahockey.wikia.com would sound better, personally. As for Skype/Yahoo, I don't have those programs, but we could use Talk:Atlanta Thrashers Wiki for the purpose of an easier to follow conversation. -Hockeyben 16:22, August 21, 2011 (UTC)
Definitley enable chat and those other features !! As for the name, i think the URL should be atlantahockey.wikia.com, and the wiki name should be Atlanta Hockey Wiki. Okay with you? -Hockeyben 17:56, August 21, 2011 (UTC)
